Agrifence Easystop 500 9V Battery Energiser Kit
The Easystop 500 is Agrifence's current 9V battery energiser, and it comes as a kit rather than a bare unit: energiser, live and earth connection leads, an earth rod and the manual all in the box. Only the 9V dry battery is left to buy, which keeps the price honest and lets you choose the capacity that suits your season.
Agrifence rate it at 0.5 joules output from 0.62 joules stored, and quote up to 4,000 metres of fencing — roughly twelve acres — in good conditions. Eco and Turbo modes let you trade output against battery life: Eco for a clean line you want to leave running, Turbo when there is growth on the wire or a determined animal to convince.
<>Performance & Benefits
- 0.5 joules output energy, 0.62 joules stored.
- Powers up to 4,000m of fencing, approximately 12 acres, in optimal conditions.
- Eco and Turbo modes, so battery life and output can be matched to the job.
- Supplied with live and earth leads and an earth rod — the earthing is not an afterthought.
- Runs on a 9V dry battery, so no mains supply and no charging routine.
- Light and compact enough to move with a rotational grazing system.
Suitable For
- Horses, cattle, sheep and other livestock on temporary and semi-permanent lines.
- Remote paddocks, strip grazing and smallholdings with no mains at the field.
- Fence lines up to around 4,000m in good, clear conditions.
- The 9V dry battery is not included — the Agrifence 9V Dry Battery 90Ah is the usual choice, and we stock it.
- Not the energiser for a long perimeter through heavy vegetation. The Agrifence Eco Dual Power DP1210E, at 2 joules stored, is rated for 1,500m even in high growth.
How to Use
- Fit a 9V dry battery, observing polarity.
- Drive the supplied earth rod its full length into damp ground, well clear of any mains earth or buried services.
- Connect the earth lead to the rod and the live lead to the fence conductor.
- Select Eco for everyday running and Turbo only when higher output is genuinely needed — Turbo draws the battery down faster.
- Test the line with a fence tester after setting up, and weekly thereafter.
- Remove the battery if the unit is stored over winter.
Specification
- Agrifence product code H8010. Barcode 5052150005454.
- Output energy 0.5 joules; stored energy 0.62 joules.
- Fence capacity up to 4,000m, approximately 12 acres, in optimal conditions.
- Power source: 9V dry battery, not included.
- In the box: energiser unit, live and earth connection leads, earth rod, instruction manual.
- Agrifence's own category listing shows 0.65 joules stored and 5,000m against this model, while their product page gives 0.62 joules and 4,000m. The lower, more conservative figures are quoted above.
Care & Caution
- An energiser produces a high voltage pulse. Switch it off and disconnect it from the fence before working on the line.
- Warning signs are a legal requirement every 50 metres where the fence adjoins a public right of way.
- Never energise barbed wire. An animal caught on an electrified barb cannot free itself.
- Only one energiser per fence line, and keep the earth rod well away from any mains earth.
- Do not attempt to recharge the 9V dry battery, and recycle it when spent.
