Agrifence HPX Ring Insulator – Pack of 25

A ring insulator is the workhorse of a wooden-post fence: the conductor threads through the ring and the ring holds it off the timber. Agrifence's HPX pattern takes rope and wire up to 8mm and tape up to 20mm wide, on a screw shank that goes into a post without a pilot hole.

Two details separate it from an economy ring. The ring itself is reinforced and its edges are rounded, so a rope that saws back and forth in the wind is not being cut on a sharp lip; and the steel shank is galvanised by thermo diffusion, which Agrifence rate at ten times the corrosion resistance of a standard coating. It carries a five-year guarantee.

Performance & Benefits
  • Takes rope and wire up to 8mm diameter, and tape up to 20mm wide.
  • Reinforced ring with rounded edges, so the conductor is not chafed at the contact point.
  • Thermo diffusion galvanising on the shank — Agrifence claim ten times better corrosion resistance than standard.
  • HPX Easyscrew shank drives into timber quickly and can be run in with the Agrifence Speediso tool.
  • Five-year guarantee from Agrifence.
  • Twenty-five per pack, enough for a five-post-per-100m run over roughly half a kilometre of single line.
<>
Suitable For
  • Permanent and semi-permanent fences on wooden posts.
  • Rope and polywire runs, including 6mm braided rope.
  • Narrow tape up to 20mm — 12mm and 20mm Megatape and Easytape both pass through.
  • Coastal and wet sites where a plain galvanised shank rusts out.
  • Not right for 40mm tape, which will not sit flat in a ring — the Agrifence HPX Tape Insulator, which locks tape up to 40mm in a clip, is the one for wide tape.
<>
How to Use
  • Mark a consistent line height along the run before you start.
  • Drive the HPX shank square into sound timber until the ring body sits against the post.
  • Use the Agrifence Speediso tool in a cordless drill to run a long fence in quickly.
  • Thread the conductor through the ring rather than tying to it, so the line can move and be tensioned.
  • Leave the ring proud of the post so a wet or dirty conductor is not touching timber.
