Agrifence Micro 3 Battery Fence Energiser – 3V

This is Agrifence's current Micro 3 battery energiser, code H5865: a lightweight 3V unit that will power up to 800 metres of electric fencing from two D-cell batteries, with Agrifence quoting up to six weeks' operation on a pair.

It is built to be carried rather than installed. The body hangs straight onto the fence line or clips to an earth stake, and it arrives with live and earth connection leads and a plain-English manual, so a temporary pen goes up in the time it takes to knock in the stake. Agrifence aim it at small horse paddocks, smallholdings and remote grazing where there is no supply to plug into.

Performance & Benefits
  • Powers up to 800 metres of electric fencing.
  • Runs on two D-cell batteries with up to six weeks' operation, by Agrifence's figures.
  • Light enough to hang directly off the fence line or mount on an earth stake.
  • Supplied with live and earth connection leads and an instruction manual.
  • No mains supply, leisure battery or solar panel needed to run it.
<>
Suitable For
  • Small horse and pony paddocks.
  • Smallholdings and remote grazing with no power supply.
  • Temporary fencing, pens and event enclosures.
  • Strip grazing and short internal divisions.
  • Not enough output for a farm perimeter, a heavily vegetated line or a long multi-strand fence — the Agrifence Paddock Pro mains energiser suits those where mains power is within reach.
<>
How to Use
  • Fit two D-cell batteries, Agrifence pack H4720, the way round shown inside the housing.
  • Hang the unit on the fence line, or mount it on the Micro 3 earth stake, code H5900, sold separately.
  • Connect the live lead to the fence line and the earth lead to the earth stake — both are needed for the fence to work.
  • Switch on, then check the line with a fence tester rather than trusting the indicator alone.
  • Keep grass and nettles cut back from the line; vegetation is the main drain on a small energiser.

Care & Caution
  • Fit electric fence warning signs where the fence runs alongside a road, footpath or bridleway.
  • Never connect an energiser to barbed wire.
  • Only one energiser to a fence line — two units on the same fence can produce a dangerous combined pulse.
  • Switch off and disconnect before repairing or moving the fence.
