The Micro 3 is the smallest energiser Agrifence make: a 3V unit that runs on two D-cell batteries and hangs straight off the fence line or an earth stake. Agrifence publish 0.04 joules stored and 0.03 joules output, which will run 800m of clean fence line or 200m through medium vegetation.

Those figures set its limits honestly. This is a unit for a pony paddock division, a temporary pen at a show, or keeping a single strand hot across a gateway — not for a farm perimeter. Agrifence state plainly that it is not suitable for long vegetation, and a nettle bed across the line will flatten it.

How to Use

• Fit two D-cell batteries — Agrifence supply them as pack H4720 — observing the polarity marked inside.
• Hang the unit on the fence line, or mount it on the Micro 3 earth stake, code H5900, which is sold separately.
• Connect the live lead to the fence and the earth lead to the earth stake. The fence will not work on the live lead alone.
• Switch on and confirm the LED is pulsing, then check the line with a fence tester.
• Keep the fence line cut clear of grass and nettles; at this output, vegetation is the main thing that will stop it working.

Care & Caution

• Fit a warning sign at any point where the fence meets a public road, footpath or bridleway.
• Never connect this or any energiser to barbed wire.
• Do not connect two energisers to the same fence line.
