Agrifence Paddock Pro Small Mains Energiser – 230V

Small in output rather than small in usefulness. This is Agrifence's entry-level mains energiser, code H8307, putting out 0.12 joules from a 0.2 joule store — enough for 1,500 metres of well-kept fence line and comfortably enough for a couple of horse paddocks kept live all year.

The case for it over a battery unit is simple arithmetic. A Micro 3 eats two D-cells a month; this runs off a socket and costs pennies a year to keep going. The case against it is vegetation: Agrifence rate it as unsuitable for long vegetation, and a low-output energiser is unforgiving of a line left to grow in.

Performance & Benefits
  • 230V mains supply — no batteries to change and nothing to recharge.
  • 0.2 joules stored, 0.12 joules output.
  • Covers up to 1,500m of fence in low vegetation, 750m in medium vegetation.
  • Compact enough to sit on a shelf in a tack room or feed store.
  • Straightforward wiring: one fence terminal, one earth terminal.
  • Three-year Agrifence warranty.
<>
Suitable For
  • One or two horse or pony paddocks kept live through the year.
  • Short perimeter fences with a building nearby.
  • Smallholdings running tape, rope or polywire on a topped line.
  • Owners who would rather not carry a leisure battery across a field.
  • Not suitable for long vegetation or a large farm perimeter, and undersized for heavy stock over distance — a higher-output mains energiser is the answer there.
<>
How to Use
  • Site the unit indoors and dry, out of the reach of children and animals.
  • Fit the earth stake in ground that stays damp, well away from building earths and water pipes.
  • Wire the earth terminal to the stake and the fence terminal to the line using insulated lead-out cable.
  • Plug in last, then read the fence with a tester to confirm what is actually reaching the line.
  • Strim under the fence line at least twice through the growing season.

Care & Caution
  • A mains energiser must be fitted indoors, out of reach of children, and connected via a correctly fused plug. Get an electrician to do it if you are in any doubt.
  • Make the fence and earth connections before the unit is plugged in, and unplug at the socket before touching them again.
  • Never connect an energiser to barbed wire.
  • Put up electric fence warning signs where the fence runs beside a road, path or bridleway.
  • Run only one energiser on any one fence line.
