Agrifence Polywire Joiner – Stainless Steel, Pack of 5
A knot in polywire is a bad electrical joint. The plastic strands pull tight around the steel filaments, the metal-to-metal contact is almost accidental, and the voltage past the knot drops away. These stainless steel clamps solve that properly, gripping polywire or wire up to 3mm and holding the conductors in contact.
Agrifence supply them five to a pack, which is about right for a season's repairs on a working fence. Stainless is the material to want: a joint in a fence line sits out in the weather permanently, and a rusted joint is a resistive joint.
<>Performance & Benefits
- Stainless steel, so the joint does not corrode into a voltage drop.
- Takes polywire and wire up to 3mm diameter.
- Clamps the conductors in metal-to-metal contact rather than relying on a knot.
- Five per pack — enough for a season's repairs.
- Works as a repair for a broken line or as a joiner between two reels.
Suitable For
- Polywire fences, including Agrifence Easyline and Megaline up to 3mm.
- Joining the end of one reel to the start of the next.
- Repairing a line broken by wind, stock or machinery.
- Wire fences using conductors up to 3mm.
- Not big enough for 6mm braided rope — the Agrifence Rope Joiner takes rope up to 6mm.
How to Use
- Switch the energiser off before working on the line.
- Cut back any frayed or melted end so you are clamping clean conductor.
- Feed both ends into the clamp and tighten until the line is held firm and cannot be pulled out.
- Keep the joint clear of insulators, posts and vegetation.
- Check the voltage each side of the joint with a tester before you leave the fence.
