Agrifence Super Horse Gate Handle

This is the Super handle with a clamp end fitting instead of a hook connection, and that clamp is what makes it the equine version: it takes electric fence tape up to 40mm wide, gripping the full width so the current passes across every conductive filament rather than through a pinched corner. On a horse fence built in wide tape, an ordinary handle simply will not make a proper connection.

Everything else follows the Super pattern — a long insulated body that keeps the hand clear of the live line, and enough substance to survive a gateway used every day. Wide white tape is chosen for horses because they can see it; the handle should be equally obvious and equally safe to take hold of.

How to Use

• Switch the energiser off before working on the gateway.
• Open the clamp, lay the tape flat across it and close it down on the full width.
• Check the tape is not folded or twisted inside the clamp — a fold halves the contact area.
• Hook the handle into the gate anchor loop opposite and check the tension is moderate.
• Open and close by the insulated body only, and check the voltage past the gateway after fitting.
