Corners take the load. A straight-run insulator holds tape against a post; a corner insulator has the full tension of two fence runs pulling against it at an angle, and this one is built accordingly — polyamide plastic over a galvanised continuous 8mm support that Agrifence describe as giving 100% stability. It takes tape up to 40mm wide.

The surface the tape passes over is smooth and rounded, which matters more than it sounds. Tape dragged around a sharp edge frays where it turns, and a frayed corner is where a fence fails in the first gale. This lets the tape feed round safely and keeps it flat.

How to Use

• Switch the energiser off before working on the line.
• Screw the insulator into sound timber at the corner post, square to the direction of pull.
• Feed the tape through the rounded channel so it lies flat and does not twist.
• Bring the line up to tension and check the tape is bearing on the insulator, not on the post edge.
• Inspect where the tape passes through once a season — corner fittings wear first.
