A complete gateway in one box: a horse gate handle, six metres of 40mm Megatape, a Stoplock insulator and a Tapelock insulator. Between two timber posts that is everything needed to turn a gap in a tape fence into an opening that stays live, holds tension and can be worked with one hand.

Buying the parts separately usually ends with a mismatch — a handle that will not clamp wide tape, or an insulator that lets the tape slip. This set is specified around 40mm tape throughout, which is the width most horse paddocks are fenced in, and the handle is the insulated clamp-end type that grips it properly.

How to Use

• Switch the energiser off before fitting anything to a live fence.
• Fit the Stoplock insulator to one post and the Tapelock insulator to the other.
• Run the Megatape across the opening, clamping the handle to the free end.
• Connect the live fence line so current is carried into the gateway tape.
• Set the tape so it is taut when closed and clear of the ground when opened.
• Open and close by the insulated handle only, and check the voltage past the gateway.
