Allen & Page Super Mixed Corn – 5kg
A step up from plain mixed corn: wheat and non-GM maize with peas added for protein, plus calcium granules and hen grit. Those last two are what make it "super" — the limestone supports eggshell strength and the grit helps birds grind their food, both things a plain corn treat does nothing for.
At 1.25% calcium it carries roughly thirty times the calcium of standard mixed corn, which makes it a rather more sensible thing to be scattering for a laying flock. The 5kg bag suits a small back garden flock.
<>Performance & Benefits
- Nutritious treat that complements rather than replaces the main feed.
- Peas add protein alongside the wheat and maize.
- Calcium granules at 1.25% support strong eggshells.
- Hen grit aids digestion by helping break down food naturally.
- Non-GM, source-identity preserved ingredients.
- Encourages natural foraging when scattered.
- 5kg bag suits a small flock.
Suitable For
- Laying hens as an afternoon treat.
- Back garden flocks of a few birds.
- Flocks needing extra calcium support for shell quality.
- Birds needing enrichment and occupation.
Feeding
- Feed as an afternoon treat after hens have had their main feed.
- Keep to a modest handful per bird rather than filling the feeder.
- Provide constant access to fresh water.
Composition & Analysis
- Composition: wheat, maize, peas, limestone (calcium carbonate), expelled soya oil. 5kg. Also available in 20kg.
- Crude protein 9%. Crude oils and fats 2.5%. Crude fibre 3%. Crude ash 7%.
- Per kg: calcium 1.25%, sodium 0.01%, phosphorus 0.3%, lysine 0.33%, methionine 0.16%.
Care & Caution
- A treat, not a feed. At 9% protein it cannot sustain a laying hen on its own.
- Overfeeding corn is the commonest cause of poor laying in back garden flocks.
