Not every veteran needs building up — plenty hold weight perfectly well into their twenties, and feeding them a conditioning veteran feed simply makes them fat, which is its own welfare problem in an older horse with tired joints.

Veteran Light gives the senior nutrition without the calories. Low starch and sugar make it gentle on the digestive system and suitable for horses prone to laminitis, while a probiotic and prebiotics maintain gut balance. Linseed supplies omega-3 for coat and skin, and a premium herb blend of mint, fenugreek, nettle, dandelion, garlic and cloves tempts even fussy feeders.

Care & Caution

• Contains beet pulp. Soak before feeding, as beet pulp swells and can cause choke if fed dry.
• For a veteran that is losing weight rather than holding it, Veteran Vitality is the appropriate feed instead.
