Anco Easy Antlers – Medium

The Medium Easy Antler is a single naturally shed deer antler, halved along its length and weighing roughly 51-80g. Halving it does two things: it exposes the marrow, which is the part dogs actually want, and it takes away the round, slippery outer surface that makes a whole antler hard for a smaller jaw to get purchase on.

This is the size most medium dogs settle on — big enough to hold under a paw and work at, small enough that a spaniel or a collie can get a proper grip. Anco clean, cut and sand every piece, so the cut face is flat and the ends are not sharp.

Feeding

• Complementary pet food for dogs. Use only as part of a nutritionally balanced diet, as a treat or reward.
• One piece per pack. Give it a chewing session rather than leaving it down permanently.
• Fresh drinking water should always be available while the dog is chewing.
• Withdraw the antler when it has been worn down to a swallowable stub.

Care & Caution

• Antlers are very hard. Anco state plainly that they may cause tooth fractures or choking, and that supervision is required throughout.
• Not recommended for puppies under four months of age, for elderly dogs, or for dogs with dental issues.
• Take the piece away once it is small enough to swallow.
• Stop using antlers altogether if you see a chipped or worn tooth.
