Anco Giant Bully Stick – 40–50cm

A bully stick is dried beef pizzle, and Anco's Giant is the long one: 40–50cm of it, sold as a single stick. Length is what buys the time here — a dog works from one end, and a stick this long stays out of the swallowable-stub zone for far longer than the 15cm sticks most shops carry.

It is 100% beef and nothing else, at 65.8% protein with fat down at 6.1%, which is unusually lean for a long-lasting chew. That combination is the reason it turns up in so many crate-rest and separation-training plans: it occupies a dog for a long stretch without loading the day with fat.

Performance & Benefits
  • Approximately 40–50cm long, sold as one stick.
  • 100% beef, single ingredient, with no rawhide and nothing added.
  • 65.8% protein with only 6.1% fat and 4.36% ash.
  • Tough and dense, so it stands up to dogs that shred softer chews in minutes.
  • Fully digestible, unlike rawhide, which swells rather than breaking down.
  • The sustained gnawing is genuinely calming, which is why it suits crate rest and time alone.
<>
Suitable For
  • Large and giant breeds, and determined chewers of any size.
  • Dogs from eight weeks of age, though this size suits an adult jaw best.
  • Crate rest, separation training and long evenings that need filling.
  • Dogs that cannot have rawhide.
  • Far too long for a small or toy breed to manage — the Anco Camel Collagen Braid Medium is a more sensible size for those.
<>
Feeding
  • Complementary pet food for dogs. Use only as part of a nutritionally balanced diet.
  • Feed as a treat or reward only, and reduce the main meal on days a stick is given.
  • Suitable for puppies from eight weeks of age.
  • Offer it in supervised sessions rather than leaving it down all day.
  • Ensure fresh drinking water is always available.

Composition & Analysis
  • Composition: 100% beef.
  • Analytical constituents published by Anco: protein 65.80%, fat 6.10%, ash 4.36%.
  • Approximate length 40–50cm, supplied as a single stick. Anco publish no weight, so none is stated here.

<>
Care & Caution
  • The last few centimetres are the dangerous part. Take the stick away once the remaining piece is short enough to be swallowed whole.
  • Supervise the whole session — a determined dog can work a long way down a bully stick in one sitting.
  • Rich for a dog unused to natural chews; introduce it gradually to avoid an upset stomach.
  • Ensure fresh drinking water is available throughout.
