The largest of Ancol's three ceramic bowls, 20cm across and 7cm deep, holding 1800ml. That is a wide, open dish rather than a deep well, which suits a big dog eating with its whole muzzle in the bowl and makes it easy to see at a glance how much water is left.

A silicone ring set into the base stops the bowl sliding, and lifts out so it can be washed separately; the ceramic goes in the dishwasher. At 1800ml it is genuinely a large-breed bowl — for a cat or a toy breed it is more bowl than the animal needs.

How to Use

• Stand the bowl on a level, hard floor with the silicone ring downwards.
• Wash food bowls after every use, and water bowls at least once a day, in warm water with a mild dish soap.
• Remove the silicone base before putting the bowl in the dishwasher.
• Dry fully before refilling, including under the ring.
