Ancol Soho Dalmatian & Zigzag Reversible Harness – Medium, 35–60cm

The medium takes a 35–60cm chest girth, which is the bracket most spaniels, terriers of the larger sort, beagles and mid-sized crossbreeds land in. It is a single reversible harness rather than a set: the pale pink Dalmatian print with hand-drawn black spots on one face, the black Zigzag with pale pink zigzags on the other, and you decide which shows when you put it on.

Ancol build it from 100% recycled fabric and quote four plastic bottles saved from landfill per harness. It is lightweight and weatherproof, which on a medium dog reads as a harness you can leave in the boot without it becoming a stiff, wet slab by the next walk.

How to Use

• Measure the chest just behind the front legs and check the reading falls within 35–60cm.
• Pick the pattern first, then lay the harness flat and thread the straps the same way each time.
• Set every strap for two fingers of clearance, and re-check after a moult or clip.
• Clip the lead to the harness ring rather than to the collar.
• Ancol publish no wash instructions for the Soho harnesses; sponge clean and air dry.

Care & Caution

• A harness set too loose can be reversed out of. Check the girth setting weekly.
• Not for a dog that chews fabric while wearing it — remove it indoors.
• Never fit it with a twisted strap after turning it; lay it out flat first.
• Check the lead ring and its stitching before every walk, and retire the harness if either shows wear.
