Phoebe is a 27cm plush pheasant from Ancol's Heritage Collection, and the wings are what set her apart: they are made with crinkle material, so there is a papery rustle to find as well as the squeaker in the body. For a lot of dogs the crinkle outlasts the squeak as the thing that keeps them coming back.

She is firm yet cuddly, with several fabric textures over the body and tail, filled with 100% recycled stuffing and machine washable at 30°C. Game-bird shapes suit dogs that like to carry a toy about and present it at the door — which is what she is for, rather than serious chewing.

How to Use

• Give her for supervised carrying, cuddling and gentle retrieving indoors.
• Machine wash at 30°C. Do not tumble dry; allow her to air dry fully before returning her to your dog.
• Check the wing and tail seams each time she comes out of the wash.
• Take her away at the first split rather than after it becomes a hole.

Care & Caution

• Not indestructible, and not a chew toy. Dogs should always be supervised during play.
• Check regularly for signs of wear and remove her immediately once the fabric is torn — stuffing, squeakers and crinkle film can all be swallowed and cause a blockage.
• Wings and tail are the thinnest parts and will go first. Inspect those seams before the rest.
• Do not tumble dry, and make sure she is dry through before she goes back to the dog.
