Ancol Viva Padded Collar – Red, Size 6 (45–54cm)

Size 6 fits necks of 45–54cm and is the last size of padded Viva collar we carry. Ancol do go further — size 7 covers 50–59cm and size 8 covers 55–63cm — so a dog measuring in the high forties has room to grow here, while a dog already at 53 or 54cm is at the end of the strap and would be better served by a size we do not stock.

That matters most on deep-necked, still-maturing dogs: a Rottweiler cross or a big Labrador at 50cm today can be at 55cm in a year, which is out of this collar entirely. If you are buying for a dog that is not finished growing, measure now and think about where it is heading rather than buying to today's number and hoping.

How to Use

• Measure the base of the neck, and on a young dog allow for where it is going, not only where it is.
• Adjust so two fingers slide flat under the webbing.
• Re-measure a maturing dog every couple of months.
• Machine wash at 30°C, do not tumble dry, air dry naturally before refitting.

Care & Caution

• Check the buckle and the stitching each side of the ID loop regularly, and replace the collar rather than the buckle.
• Re-check the fit on a growing dog — a collar left on the same hole for a year is the commonest cause of a rub.
• Remove for unsupervised crate or kennel time.
