Arkwrights Sensitive Complete Extra Chicken – 15kg

Sensitive Complete is the wheat-free recipe in the Arkwrights line, and the one to reach for when a dog does well on everything except wheat. Meat and animal derivatives run to 26% of the food, of which 14% is chicken, and the analysis steps up to 22% crude protein and 10% oils and fats — noticeably richer than the 18% and 7% of the standard Arkwrights recipes.

Gilbertson & Page use maize gluten as the vegetable protein extract in place of wheat, and add FOS at 0.2% as a prebiotic along with yucca extract. They describe it as a balanced food for adult and senior dogs with sensitive stomachs, and sell it in 15kg only.

Performance & Benefits
  • Made without wheat, using maize gluten as the vegetable protein extract.
  • Chicken at 14% within 26% meat and animal derivatives — more than double the meat of the standard Arkwrights recipes.
  • 22% crude protein and 10% crude oils and fats, a richer specification for hard-working or poorly-doing dogs.
  • FOS at 0.2%, included by Gilbertson & Page as a prebiotic to promote healthy digestion.
  • Yucca extract in the recipe.
  • Wholegrain cereals for slow energy release, in a crunchy kibble that helps keep teeth clean.

Suitable For
  • Adult and senior dogs with sensitive stomachs — Gilbertson & Page's own description of the food.
  • Dogs that react to wheat specifically.
  • Working dogs needing more protein and oil than the standard Arkwrights recipes supply.
  • Not grain-free and not hypoallergenic: cereals and maize gluten remain, so a dog reacting to grain generally needs a grain-free diet instead.
  • Gilbertson & Page publish a wheat-free claim only. They make no dairy-free or soya-free claim for this food, so it should not be chosen on that basis.
<>
Feeding
  • Gilbertson & Page use one guide across the Arkwrights range: up to 200g daily under 10kg, 200–370g for 10–20kg, 370–680g for 20–45kg, and above 680g over 45kg.
  • This recipe is richer than the standard ones, so start at the lower end of the band and adjust on body condition.
  • Two meals a day suits most adults; split it further for a dog with a delicate stomach.
  • Change over slowly — a sensitive dog is exactly the one that reacts to a sudden switch.
  • Fresh drinking water at all times.
