Baileys No.19 Performance Balancer – 20kg
No.19 answers a specific problem: the good doer in real work. Feed it a performance mix and it gets fat; feed it hay alone and it runs short of protein, antioxidants and trace elements. This is the high-specification balancer that fills the gap, aimed by Baileys at horses working more than four times a week that hold their weight easily.
At 26% protein with 2.2% lysine it is built for topline, and the antioxidant loading is what separates it from an everyday balancer — 2,500 IU/kg vitamin E and 2.5 mg/kg selenium, on 6% starch and 6.5% sugar. Baileys hold BETA accreditation for it as suitable for equines prone to gastric ulcer syndrome.
<>Performance & Benefits
- BETA accredited as suitable for equines prone to gastric ulcer syndrome (EGUS).
- 26% protein with lysine at 2.2% and methionine at 0.7%, for topline and tissue repair.
- Vitamin E at 2,500 IU/kg with 2.5 mg/kg selenium — antioxidant cover for hard-working muscle.
- Low starch at 6% and low sugar at 6.5%, so energy stays controlled.
- Biotin at 30 mg/kg with 600 mg/kg zinc and 250 mg/kg copper for hoof and coat.
- ScFOS Digest Plus prebiotic at 5g/kg to support fibre digestion.
Suitable For
- Good doers in work who maintain weight easily.
- Horses working more than four times a week that need nutrition without calories.
- Equines needing topline and muscle development on a forage-based diet.
- Horses prone to gastric ulcers, on Baileys' BETA EGUS accreditation.
- More protein than a resting horse needs — Baileys No.14 Lo-Cal Balancer suits a horse at rest or in light work.
Feeding
- Feed as the sole concentrate, or alongside reduced amounts of a mix or cube.
- Baileys publish no grams-per-100kg rate online; their nutrition team set it to bodyweight and workload.
- Introduce gradually over seven to ten days.
- Ad-lib forage and clean, fresh water alongside.
- Feeding-rate claims of a six-week bag life appear on some retail listings; Baileys publish no such figure, so none is stated here.
