Baileys No.11 Racehorse Cubes – 20kg
The No.11 cubes are the oat-free half of Baileys' racing pair: micronised wheat rather than whole grain, which brings starch down to 26% against the No.10 mix's 32 while still holding 13.5 MJ/kg. Baileys describe them as highly digestible, non-heating energy for hard work.
Being a cube, nothing can be sorted out and left — a horse eats the whole ration rather than picking the maize out of a mix. Distillers' grains and micronised soya beans supply the 13% protein, and total oil sits at 6%. Supplied in 20kg.
<>Performance & Benefits
- 13.5 MJ/kg with starch at 26%, lower than the equivalent grain mix.
- Micronised wheat, cooked for better small-intestine starch digestion.
- No whole oats, which suits horses that turn sharp on them.
- A cube, so selective feeding is simply not possible.
- 13% protein and 6% oil from distillers' grains, micronised soya beans and soya oil.
- Fully balanced, with calcium at 0.9% and phosphorus at 0.5%.
Suitable For
- Racehorses in moderate to hard work.
- Horses prone to excitable behaviour or digestive upset on a grain mix.
- Flat, National Hunt and point-to-point yards, and eventers in full work.
- Horses that pick through a coarse mix and leave half of it in the bowl.
- Too much energy for a leisure horse and wrong for a laminitic — Baileys No.2 Working Cubes or No.24 Ease & Excel Cubes are the alternatives we stock.
Feeding
- Feed by weight alongside forage. One level Stubbs round bowl scoop holds about 1.8kg of cubes.
- Baileys cap a meal at 0.5kg of cubes per 100kg bodyweight — 2.5kg for a 500kg horse.
- Keep the whole feed within 1.5–2kg for a horse or 1.25–1.5kg for a pony, chaff and beet pulp included.
- At racing quantities, split the daily ration across three or four feeds.
- Baileys publish their per-workload rates on the bag rather than online; their nutrition team will set one.
Composition & Analysis
- Composition: micronised wheat, nutritionally improved straw, wheatfeed, distillers' grains, micronised soya beans, molasses, soya oil, calcium carbonate, vitamins and minerals, calcined magnesite, sodium chloride. Supplied in a 20kg bag.

Care & Caution
- Starch is 26%. Not suitable for a horse with laminitis, insulin resistance or PPID.
- Stay inside Baileys' 0.5kg per 100kg bodyweight meal limit and split the day's feed.
- Reduce the ration on rest days rather than keeping a standing horse on full work rations.
- Change over from another feed across ten days to a fortnight.
