Beco Boredom Buster Natural Rubber Treat Toy – Blue
The Boredom Buster is Beco's shelf-loaded food toy: a rounded natural rubber body with internal ledges that hold kibble or paste back so it comes out a little at a time. It rolls off-centre, which keeps a dog chasing it round the kitchen rather than parking on it.
Beco give the composition as 54% natural rubber, 11% synthetic rubber, colouring and additives, and put a well-packed toy at 45 minutes or more of work. In blue it is the easier of the two colours to spot on a lawn; the green version disappears into grass much faster.
<>Performance & Benefits
- Hidden internal shelves release food slowly rather than dumping it in one go
- Rolls and wobbles as the dog works at it, so the toy keeps moving
- Thick springy natural rubber that Beco say is built to hold its own against determined chewers
- Gentle on teeth compared with hard nylon or plastic dispensers
- Beco put engagement at 45 minutes or more when filled well
Suitable For
- Dogs left alone for short stretches who need something to settle to
- Fast eaters, fed part of a meal through the toy instead of the bowl
- Heavy chewers, within reason — Beco say no toy is indestructible
- Crate rest and wet afternoons when a walk is not happening
- Not a fetch toy — the Beco Super Stick is the natural rubber toy for throwing
How to Use
- Pack with kibble, nut butter or a soft paste and let the dog roll it out
- Freeze it filled to stretch the session considerably further
- Wash in warm soapy water and dry before refilling
- Count what goes in as part of the daily ration, not on top of it
- Put it away between sessions so it stays novel
Specification
- Material: 54% natural rubber, 11% synthetic rubber, colouring and additives — Beco's own figures
- Colour: blue. Beco also list this toy in green
- Beco publish no dimensions for this toy; a figure of 8.8 x 7 x 7cm appears on some retail listings and is not theirs
- Dishwasher is not recommended; hand wash in warm soapy water
- Not a product for children
Care & Caution
- Match the toy to the dog — a determined jaw on an undersized toy is how accidents happen
- Supervise play and take the toy away the moment the rubber splits or a piece is missing
- Retire it once a dog has chewed through the shell rather than letting it carry on
- If any part is swallowed, speak to a vet straight away
- Not a chew for children, and not a teething toy
