Buddycare Irish Seaweed Plaque Remover – 75g

One ingredient, and that is the whole argument for it: hand-harvested Irish Ascophyllum nodosum, dried and milled to a powder. It is sprinkled onto food, works through the saliva and softens the bond between plaque and the tooth so that normal chewing takes more of it away.

It is slow. Buddycare say three to eight weeks of daily feeding before the difference shows, and that is honest rather than cautious — this is not a descaler. What it is good at is the dog that will not tolerate a toothbrush, which is most of them.

Performance & Benefits
  • 100% Ascophyllum nodosum seaweed, hand-harvested in Irish waters. Nothing added.
  • Works through the saliva, so no brushing and no gel is needed.
  • Helps limit the build-up of plaque and tartar over time.
  • Buddycare quote visible results after three to eight weeks of daily feeding.
  • Suitable for cats as well as dogs.
  • 75g tub with a measuring spoon included; Buddycare also make a 200g.
<>
Suitable For
  • Dogs and cats that will not accept a toothbrush.
  • Daily use as part of a routine rather than a one-off treatment.
  • Owners who want a single-ingredient supplement with nothing else in it.
  • Feeding alongside, not instead of, dental chews and vet check-ups.
  • Not for a dog or cat with a thyroid condition — the natural iodine content rules it out, and it should not be fed to one.
<>
Feeding
  • Use the spoon supplied to sprinkle the measured amount over the usual food each day.
  • Mix it through and serve as normal.
  • Feed daily and continuously; Buddycare say three to eight weeks before results show.
  • Store the tub sealed in a cool, dry place.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Buddycare publish no dosing figures by bodyweight, only the supplied spoon, so no gram-per-kilo rate is stated here.

Composition & Analysis
  • Composition: 100% natural seaweed (Ascophyllum nodosum).
  • Analytical constituents: crude protein 5%, crude fibre 4.5%, crude fat 3%, crude ash 18.5%, moisture 11%.
  • Natural iodine 500mg/kg. Natural calcium 1.3%.
  • Net weight 75g. Also available from Buddycare in 200g.
  • Species: dogs and cats.
  • Buddycare make the range at their own facility in Hertfordshire, to ISO 9001 and GMP 22716.
<>
Care & Caution
  • Do not feed it to a dog or cat with a thyroid condition. Buddycare state this plainly, and the natural iodine at 500mg/kg is the reason.
  • Check with your vet before feeding it alongside any thyroid medication, or to a pregnant animal.
  • It will not remove established tartar. Hard yellow-brown scale needs a veterinary scale and polish, and a broken or painful tooth needs seeing.
  • Keep the tub sealed and out of reach of children.
  • Feed the measured spoon only — more does not work faster.
