Buddycare Oatmeal Waterless Dry Dog Shampoo – 200ml

Of the four scents in Buddycare's waterless range this is the quietest, which is the reason to pick it for a dog whose skin is already touchy. The cleaning is done by cocamidopropyl betaine and lauryl glucoside — a mild amphoteric and a sugar-derived glucoside — with aloe barbadensis leaf juice and panthenol left behind on the coat.

One thing worth being straight about: oatmeal here is a scent, not an ingredient. Buddycare's declared ingredient list for this bottle contains no oat or Avena derivative, so it should not be bought as a colloidal oatmeal treatment. Buddycare's 500ml Oatmeal Dog Shampoo, the wash-out one, is the product that carries actual colloidal oat.

Performance & Benefits
  • The mildest scent of the four waterless bottles, which suits a sensitive dog.
  • Rinse free — apply, massage, brush out, no water needed.
  • Cocamidopropyl betaine and lauryl glucoside base, free of SLS, sulphates and parabens.
  • Aloe barbadensis leaf juice and panthenol, the two conditioning ingredients in the range.
  • pH balanced for canine skin.
  • Cleared by Buddycare from eight weeks of age.
<>
Suitable For
  • Dogs that react to strongly perfumed grooming products.
  • Quick cleanups between proper baths.
  • Puppies from eight weeks, and dogs that panic at the sight of a bath.
  • Households where a strong fragrance is not wanted.
  • Not a treatment for itchy or oat-responsive skin — Buddycare's 500ml Oatmeal Dog Shampoo carries colloidal oat and is the right product for that. Never use either on a cat.
<>
How to Use
  • Apply to the coat and gently massage it in.
  • Work it into the dirty areas down to the skin.
  • Brush the coat through if necessary.
  • Do not rinse — the formula is rinse free.
  • Allow the coat to dry naturally afterwards.
<>

  • Free from SLS, sulphates and parabens.
  • Buddycare publish no pH figure and no opened shelf life for this bottle, so none is given here.
<>
Care & Caution
  • Buddycare formulate this for dogs only and say plainly not to use it on cats, whose skin pH differs. Use a cat shampoo on a cat.
  • It is rinse free, so it stays on the coat and the dog will lick it. Use only what the coat needs, and keep it off the muzzle and around the mouth.
  • Keep it out of the eyes and ears. Flush with clean water if any gets in.
  • Not for puppies under eight weeks.
  • Stop using it if the skin reddens or the dog scratches more after a wash, and speak to your vet.
