Canagan Scottish Salmon Dry Cat Food – 1.5kg
The 1.5kg bag is Canagan's middle size for the Scottish Salmon recipe, sitting between the 375g trial pack and the 4kg and 8kg sacks. It is the practical choice for a single cat: at 45g a day for a 3.5kg cat it lasts about five weeks, which is short enough that the kibble is still fresh when the bag is finished.
The recipe itself is identical across every bag size — freshly prepared Scottish salmon at 43.5%, dried herring at 12.1%, and trout, dried salmon and white fish behind them. Canagan add taurine at 1,300 mg/kg and declare 407 kcal per 100g, so it is a dense food and the scoop should be a small one.
<>Performance & Benefits
- The same all-fish recipe as the larger bags, in a size one cat finishes quickly.
- Freshly prepared Scottish salmon 43.5% plus dried herring 12.1%, dried salmon, white fish and trout.
- 407 kcal per 100g — an ounce and a half a day covers most adult cats.
- Crude protein 34%, crude fat 21%, crude fibre 2%.
- Mannanoligosaccharides and fructooligosaccharides included as prebiotics.
- No poultry, red meat or egg, so it doubles as a poultry-free diet.
Suitable For
- Single-cat households, where a 4kg bag would be open too long.
- Kittens and adults — Canagan label the recipe For Kittens & Adults.
- Cats being moved onto a fish-only diet to rule out chicken.
- Anyone testing the recipe beyond the 375g pack before committing.
- Feeding two or more cats on this food long term is cheaper from the 4kg bag.
Feeding
- Adult cats: 25–35g daily under 2.5kg, 35–45g at 2.5–3.5kg, 45–60g at 3.5–4.5kg, 60g or more above that.
- Kittens: 20–30g under 2 months, 30–55g at 2–4 months, 55–75g at 4–6 months, 75g or more at 6–12 months.
- Introduce over seven days, working from a quarter Canagan up to the whole ration.
- Weigh the portion rather than guessing — at 407 kcal per 100g small errors add up quickly.
- Reseal the bag after every meal and keep it somewhere cool and dry.
