Canagan Country Game Dry Dog Food – 6kg

Duck and venison give this kibble its dark, gamey character: freshly prepared duck at 25.3%, dried duck at 6% and freshly prepared venison at 4%, with dried turkey at 16.5% and dried herring at 3% making up the rest of the animal content. Turkey fat rather than chicken fat carries the flavour through.

At 6kg this is the everyday bag for a medium dog. Canagan feed a 20kg dog 200g a day on maintenance, so the sack runs a month; a 30kg dog in regular work goes through it in about seventeen days. Joint support is built in at 780 mg/kg glucosamine and MSM.

Performance & Benefits
  • Duck in two forms — freshly prepared at 25.3% and dried at 6%.
  • Freshly prepared venison 4% and dried herring 3% alongside dried turkey 16.5%.
  • Turkey fat at 3% and salmon oil at 1.7% supply the fats.
  • Glucosamine and MSM at 780 mg/kg each, chondroitin sulphate at 570 mg/kg.
  • Seaweed, marigold, cranberry and camomile in the botanical blend.
  • Crude protein 37%, crude fat 17%, 391 kcal per 100g.

Suitable For
  • Puppies and adults, on Canagan's own life-stage labelling.
  • Medium and large dogs eating the recipe as their standard food.
  • Dogs that do better on dark meat than on chicken.
  • Households wanting a month's food in one bag rather than two.
  • A dog needing a strictly poultry-free diet cannot eat this — the herring and chicken gravy rule it out too. Canagan Grass Fed Lamb is the alternative.

Feeding
  • Canagan's adult guide, in grams a day for maintenance and for active dogs: 5kg 80g/100g, 10kg 120g/150g, 15kg 150g/190g, 20kg 200g/240g, 30kg 290g/350g, 40kg 370g/420g, 50kg 450g/540g.
  • Puppy portions run by expected adult weight: 65–90g a day for a toy breed, 145–180g for 5–10kg, 215–255g for 10–25kg and 375–430g for 25–45kg, tapering back to adult rations from around a year.
  • Change over across a week: a quarter Canagan on day one, half by day three, three quarters by day five, all of it by day seven.
  • Cut the ration by 10% if the dog carries too much weight and raise it by 10% if it carries too little.
  • A 6kg bag runs about thirty days for a 20kg dog on maintenance, or seventeen for an active 30kg dog.
  • Store in a cool dry place with the bag folded shut, and keep water available.
