Canagan Puppy Feast Wet Dog Food – 400g
The only can in this group Canagan label for puppies rather than for adults. The 65% meat is split 35% freshly prepared free-run chicken and 30% freshly prepared beef, two proteins rather than one, on the reasoning that a growing dog is better served by a broader amino acid supply than by a single meat.
Crude ash is declared at 2.1%, the lowest of the Canagan 400g cans, with protein at 10.8% and fat at 6.7%. A soft, wet feed also suits a puppy still learning to chew, and the 400g tin divides neatly across the three or four meals a young puppy needs each day.
<>Performance & Benefits
- 65% fresh meat: free-run chicken (35%) with beef (30%).
- Crude protein 10.8%, crude fat 6.7%, crude ash 2.1% — the lowest ash of the range.
- Complete food, so it needs no supplementing to balance it.
- Green lipped mussel declared as a source of glucosamine at 100 mg/kg.
- Salmon oil for fats, plus apple, spinach, seaweed and slippery elm.
- Grain free, which helps if a litter has reacted to a cereal-based puppy food.
Suitable For
- Puppies from weaning through growth, fed in three or four meals a day.
- Puppies changing from a cereal-based food onto grain free.
- Puppies still getting the hang of chewing dry kibble.
- Mixing a spoonful into a dry puppy food to lift interest in the bowl.
- Not intended for adult maintenance — Canagan's adult 400g cans include Chicken & Wild Boar Casserole, British Braised Beef and Salmon & Herring Supper, all of which we stock.
Feeding
- Canagan's puppy guide, in 400g cans a day: toy 1–5kg half to one and a half; small 5–12kg one and a half to two and a half; medium 12–25kg two and a half to four; large 25–45kg four to eight.
- Split the daily amount across three or four meals while the puppy is young, dropping to two as it matures.
- Canagan's published puppy can guide stops at large breeds of 25–45kg expected adult weight; they give no giant-breed figure for the wet food, so feed a giant-breed puppy to a steady growth curve and to condition.
- Introduce over a week: 25% Canagan on day one, half and half on day three, 75% on day five, all Canagan by day seven.
- Serve at room temperature, keep water alongside, and refrigerate the opened can for up to two days.

Care & Caution
- This is a complete puppy food. Do not add calcium, mineral or vitamin supplements to it — oversupplying calcium during growth is a recognised cause of skeletal problems, particularly in large and giant breeds.
- Because Canagan publish no giant-breed figure for the wet puppy food, weigh a giant-breed puppy regularly rather than feeding to appetite.
