Carnilove Carp with Thyme Soft Dog Treats – 200g
Semi-moist treats built on 35% dried carp with 1% thyme — a fish almost no dog has eaten, which is what makes them useful for training a dog that is on an unusual diet. At 33.0% protein and only 5.0% fat they are leaner than most soft treats, and collagen is included in the recipe.
They stay soft at 17.0% moisture, so they tear easily into smaller pieces and do not crumble in a pocket. Carnilove have since discontinued the carp version in favour of a salmon and thyme recipe, so the figures below are their published ones for the carp treat while stocks of it last.
<>Performance & Benefits
- 35% dried carp, a genuinely uncommon protein for a dog.
- 33.0% crude protein with just 5.0% fat.
- Collagen included in the composition.
- Semi-moist at 17.0% moisture — soft enough to tear into training-sized pieces.
- 1% thyme; preserved with citric acid and DL-malic acid rather than artificial preservatives.
- Grain-free and potato-free, with no artificial colourants.
Suitable For
- Training and reward work where a lot of small pieces are needed.
- Dogs on a fish-based or unusual-protein diet.
- Dogs that need a low-fat treat.
- Older dogs and any dog that finds a hard biscuit difficult.
- Not suitable for a strict single-protein exclusion trial: the recipe also contains salmon gravy, salmon oil and poultry liver gravy.
Feeding
- A complementary food, not a meal. Carnilove's daily guide: under 10kg fewer than 10 pieces, 10kg 10–15, 15kg 15–20, 20kg 20–25, 25kg 25–30, 30kg and over 30 or more.
- Those are generous numbers. Take the equivalent off the main meal on a day you use a lot of them.
- Break larger pieces in half for small dogs and for high-rate training.
- Offer water alongside, as with any dried or semi-moist treat.

- Carnilove have discontinued this recipe and replaced it with a salmon and thyme soft snack; the figures above are Carnilove's own for the carp version.
