Chudleys Rabbit Royale – 14kg

Rabbit Royale is Chudleys' muesli-style complete feed for rabbits, and grass is the first ingredient rather than an afterthought. Crude fibre comes in at 15%, with alfalfa, straw, oatfeed and unmolassed beet pulp behind the grass, and protein is kept modest at 12%. The visible variety — carrot, peas, marigolds, kale, mint and nettle — is what makes a rabbit come to the bowl.

Chudleys declare a minimum 6% total vegetables and 2% total herbs, with mannan oligosaccharides at 0.1% as a prebiotic. They describe it as suiting growing and adult rabbits. Like any mix, it works best alongside unlimited hay: the mix supplies the concentrate and the hay does the real work on teeth and gut.

Feeding

• Growing rabbits up to one year: feed to appetite, typically 100–120g a day.
• Adult rabbits: 25g per kg of bodyweight a day.
• Rabbits in milk: 75g per kg of bodyweight a day.
• Feed alongside unlimited good hay and fresh water, not instead of it.
• Introduce a new mix over a week or so; rabbit guts do not take sudden changes well.

• Earlier copy on this page gave fibre as 6% and ash as 14%. Chudleys' own figures are the other way round: crude fibres 15%, crude ash 6.0%.
• Chudleys publish no added vitamin or trace element declaration for Rabbit Royale on their own site, and make no statement about locust beans, so neither is claimed here.

Care & Caution

• A muesli mix lets a rabbit pick out the parts it likes and leave the rest. Do not top the bowl up until it is empty, or the diet the rabbit actually eats will not be the one on the bag.
• Hay must make up the bulk of the diet. Concentrate alone leads to dental disease and gut stasis.
• A rabbit that stops eating or passes no droppings for twelve hours is an emergency, not something to feed through.
