Copdock Mill Range Layers Pellets with Verm-X – 20kg

Range Layers Pellets are Copdock Mill's complete pelleted ration for laying birds, with the Verm-X herbal blend included. A pellet carries the whole formulation in every mouthful, so a hen cannot pick out the wheat and leave the supplement behind. That is the main practical argument for pellets over mash, and it matters most in a mixed flock where the bold birds eat first.

The 20kg bag is the working size for anything beyond a few hens and the cheapest way to buy the feed per kilo. Copdock Mill declare 17% crude protein and 4% crude fibre, and Verm-X carries no egg withdrawal period.

Performance & Benefits
  • Complete layers ration in pellet form — no selective feeding.
  • 17% crude protein, the level Copdock Mill set for birds in lay.
  • Verm-X herbal blend included for gut and intestinal support.
  • No egg withdrawal period; eggs can be eaten throughout.
  • Limestone granules and dicalcium phosphate for shell strength.
  • 20kg bag, the best value per kilo in the range.
<>
Suitable For
  • Laying hens and other poultry in lay, from about three weeks before point of lay onwards.
  • Flocks large enough to work through 20kg while it is fresh.
  • Keepers who want one bag to be the whole ration.
  • Birds that waste mash, or that are fed outdoors where mash blows about.
  • Not for chicks or growers — Copdock Mill Chick Starter Micros and Growers Pellets are the feeds for those ages.
<>
Feeding
  • Feed ad lib from a poultry feeder, with clean fresh water always available.
  • Introduce the layers ration about three weeks before point of lay.
  • Copdock Mill publish no gram-per-bird rate for the pellets. Their published figure for Range Layers Mash is a minimum of 120g per hen per day.
  • Offer insoluble flint grit separately. The oyster shell and limestone in a layers feed supply calcium, not grinding grit.
  • Mixed corn, if you feed it, is a treat. Put it out after the pellets rather than instead of them.
<>
Composition & Analysis
  • Composition: wheat, hipro soya bean extract, limestone granules, sunflower extract, wheatfeed, dicalcium phosphate, salt, DL-methionine, layers supplement (DSM), oil, with the Verm-X herbal blend.
  • Analytical constituents: crude protein 17%, crude oil 4.5%, crude fibre 4%, crude ash 13.5%.
  • Vitamin A, vitamin D3, vitamin E, copper, methionine and selenium are declared as additives. Copdock Mill publish no inclusion figures for them, so none are given here.
  • Bag weight 20kg. Also supplied as a 5kg carry-home pack.
  • The herbal ingredient list that circulates with this product — garlic, cinnamon, thyme, nettle, cleavers, slippery elm and the rest — is the composition of Verm-X Original pellets, the standalone supplement, and not of this feed.
<>
Care & Caution
  • A layers ration is calcium-loaded for birds in lay. Chicks and growers must not have it: a sustained calcium load before point of lay damages the kidneys.
  • Verm-X is a herbal blend, not a licensed wormer. Where a worm burden is diagnosed it does not replace a veterinary anthelmintic.
