Dengie Cool, Condition & Shine – 20kg

A high-fibre, high-oil feed that builds condition and coat shine without causing excitability. The oil does the conditioning work that cereals would otherwise do, which is why a horse can gain weight on it and stay level-headed — the usual problem with putting weight on a sharp horse.

Unusually for a Dengie chaff, it contains a broad spectrum of vitamins and minerals, so at recommended feeding levels it provides a fully balanced ration without a separate balancer. Chopped grass, soft straw and grass and alfalfa pellets are lightly coated with molasses and spearmint oil to tempt fussy feeders. It can be used as a complete fibre feed or simply as a chaff to bulk out other feeds.

Feeding

• Horses in light work: 500g per 100kg bodyweight per day.
• Feed at recommended levels to get the full vitamin and mineral balance.
• For harder work or more condition, consider Dengie Alfa-A Oil instead.
• Feed dry or dampened, alongside forage and clean, fresh water.

Care & Caution

• Fed below the recommended level, the vitamin and mineral content will not be balanced. Feed to the rate or add a balancer.
• Molasses coated. Not the right choice for a laminitic — consider Hi-Fi Molasses Free or Healthy Hooves instead.
