Dengie Fresh Bed for Chickens – 50 Litre

A finely chopped, dust-extracted straw bedding developed in association with the British Hen Welfare Trust, infused with natural pine oil for its antibacterial and antifungal properties. The dust extraction and fine chop are what make it suitable for ex-commercial and rescue hens, whose respiratory systems and feet are often in poor condition when they arrive.

Unlike shavings or wood pellets it composts quickly and easily, producing rich compost for the garden rather than a heap that sits for months. The 50 litre bale is the handier of the two sizes — easy to carry and store, and about two weeks of bedding for five hens.
