A traditional grain-based competition mix built on oats and flaked barley, at an estimated 11.5 MJ/kg with 25% starch. That starch figure is the point of the feed: it supplies fast-release energy for horses that need to produce speed and power on the day, and it is what separates this from the fibre-and-oil feeds aimed at calmer types.

It is fully balanced rather than a straight cereal blend. There is a fortified electrolyte package for hydration and recovery after work, ActiSaf protected live yeast to support hindgut fermentation while a starchy ration is being fed, chelated minerals for absorption, and antioxidants and B vitamins alongside 6g/kg lysine and 1.8g/kg methionine for muscle repair.

Suitable For

• Horses and ponies competing at all levels and needing fast-releasing energy.
• Horses in regular training that lose electrolytes through sweat.
• Event horses, showjumpers and racehorses in hard work.
• Not suitable for laminitic, EMS or Cushingoid horses — 16 Plus Mix and CushCare Condition are the low-starch options.

Feeding

• Feed 600g per 100kg bodyweight per day — 2.1kg for a 350kg competition pony, 3.0kg for a 550kg event horse.
• Divide into at least two to three meals a day.
• Maintain a minimum forage intake of 2kg per 100kg bodyweight per day.
• Introduce gradually over seven to ten days.

• Crude protein 12.0%. Oil 4.6%. Fibre 11.6%. Ash 7.1%. Starch 25.0%. Sugar 6%.
• Estimated digestible energy 11.5 MJ/kg. Lysine 6g/kg. Methionine 1.8g/kg.

Care & Caution

• A high-starch feed. Cut the ration back on rest days to reduce the risk of tying up.
• Not appropriate for horses with laminitis, EMS or PPID, where dietary starch must be kept low.
