Equiblox Original – 12kg
An even split of alfalfa and dust-extracted hay, dried, pressed and cut into 1kg blocks, twelve to the bag. The alfalfa is cut fresh from the field and pressed quickly, which is what holds the colour, the smell and the palatability — a horse that turns its nose up at ordinary chaff will usually take this.
Half alfalfa gives it more protein and calcium than a straight hay product, without becoming the high-protein feed a pure alfalfa is. There is no molasses and nothing artificial, and it is non-heating, so it can go to a horse in work without making it sharp. Blocks can be soaked for an older horse that cannot manage solid forage.
<>Performance & Benefits
- 50% alfalfa and 50% dust-extracted hay, compressed into 1kg blocks.
- Naturally low in sugar, with no added molasses or artificial additives.
- Non-heating, for calm and consistent behaviour.
- Fresh-cut alfalfa keeps it palatable for fussy feeders.
- Extended chewing supports healthy teeth and gums.
- Can be soaked for older horses or those that struggle with solid forage.
Suitable For
- All horses and ponies needing a high-fibre feed that supports condition without excess weight gain.
- Horses in regular work needing a consistent forage source.
- Stabled horses through winter, as a boredom breaker with less turnout.
- Fussy eaters that respond to fresh-cut alfalfa.
- Contains alfalfa. A horse that does not tolerate it wants Equiblox Veteran, which is pure timothy hay.
Feeding
- Feed in the stable or outdoors, by weight and not by volume.
- Adjust quantities according to condition, exercise and temperament.
- Soak in water where a softer forage is needed.
- Make any dietary change gradually, and provide fresh, clean water at all times.
