Equiblox Veteran – 12kg

Finely chopped soft timothy hay, compressed into 1kg blocks, twelve to the bag. The chop length is the whole reason the product exists: diastema, the gaps that open between an old horse's molars, trap long-stem forage and cause painful periodontal disease, and a short, soft chop is far less likely to pack into them.

It also asks very little of teeth that are worn down or missing. Fed dry it behaves like a normal forage block and lets a horse forage naturally; soaked in around five litres of water a block breaks into a wet chop that a horse with almost no grinding surface left can still manage. Nothing is added — no molasses, no coating.

Performance & Benefits
  • Finely chopped soft timothy hay, easy to digest and needing minimal chewing.
  • Short chop reduces the risk of forage packing into gappy teeth.
  • Naturally low in sugar, with no added molasses or additives.
  • Compressed 1kg blocks store at home and travel to shows or livery easily.
  • Feed dry from the bag, or soak to make a soft, hydrating wet chop.
  • Alfalfa-free, for a veteran that does not tolerate alfalfa.
<>
Suitable For
  • Veteran horses and ponies needing an easy-to-digest forage.
  • Horses with diastema or other dental problems that struggle with long-stem hay.
  • Senior horses needing a gentle, low-sugar forage as part of a balanced diet.
  • Horses that need to avoid alfalfa.
  • Low in calories by design. A veteran that is losing weight also needs a conditioning feed alongside it.
<>
Feeding
  • Feed 1–2kg dry weight per 100kg bodyweight per day.
  • Feed straight from the bag in the stable or outdoors.
  • To make a wet chop, soak a block in a bucket with around 5 litres of water.
  • Feeding a block whole rather than pre-soaked replicates natural foraging, where the teeth allow it.
