Equigrow Organic Green Compost – 40L, PAS100 Peat-Free

Equigrow's Organic Green Compost is made entirely from composted green vegetation and screened down to 10mm, which gives a fine, even material that spreads as a mulch as readily as it fills a pot. It is PAS100 certified — the recognised UK quality standard for composted green waste — and entirely peat-free.

What it does best is put organic matter back into tired ground. Soil that has been cropped hard loses structure before it loses fertility, and structure is what holds nutrients where roots can reach them. Equigrow compost the green waste for seven to eight weeks with weekly turning before it is screened and bagged.

Performance & Benefits
  • PAS100 certified and screened to 10mm, meeting the recognised UK standard for composted green waste.
  • Made from green waste collected at council transfer stations and amenity sites, with no sand, bulking agent or peat.
  • Restores organic matter to depleted soil and improves structure, so it holds nutrients for longer.
  • Genuinely versatile — mulch, container compost, topsoil when mixed with sand, or a structure improver on agricultural land.
  • Peat-free, and usable all year round.
  • Composted for seven to eight weeks with weekly turning before screening.
<>
Suitable For
  • Borders and beds that have been cropped hard and need organic matter putting back.
  • Pots and containers where a peat-free medium is wanted.
  • Mulching, to hold moisture in and keep weeds down.
  • Mixing with sand to make up topsoil.
  • Not a fertiliser in its own right. For feeding value rather than structure, Equigrow's Real Farmyard Manure or Soil Conditioner carry the nutrients.
<>
How to Use
  • Best applied at maximum crop uptake, generally late winter or spring, though it can be used throughout the year.
  • Spread it as a mulch or dig it in, depending on whether you are feeding the surface or the root zone.
  • Do not apply to frozen, snow-covered or waterlogged ground.
  • Mix with sand where you are making up topsoil rather than top-dressing.
  • Water it in after spreading in dry weather.
