Equine America Winky Wash Sheath Cleaner – 500ml
Winky Wash is Equine America's sheath cleaner for geldings and stallions, made with extracts of coconut and formulated to lift smegma without stripping the skin. It is worked in by hand, left a few minutes to soften what is there, and then rinsed off very thoroughly with warm water.
Equine America also list it as a gentle cleanser for mares and state that it is suitable for use on lactating mares, which makes it usable on a stud rather than only in a gelding's field. It is cruelty free, paraben free and sulphate free.
<>Performance & Benefits
- Formulated specifically for sheath cleaning rather than adapted from a shampoo.
- Made with extracts of coconut.
- Paraben free, sulphate free and cruelty free.
- Softens soiling on contact, so loosened material can be lifted out by hand rather than scrubbed.
- Also usable as a gentle cleanser for mares, including lactating mares.
Suitable For
- Geldings and stallions needing routine sheath cleaning.
- Mares, as a gentle external cleanser.
- Breeding stock before and after covering.
- Owners who want a paraben and sulphate free product for a sensitive area.
- Not a treatment for infection, swelling or discharge — those need a vet, not a cleanser.
How to Use
- Squeeze a generous amount into the hand and gently work it into the area to be cleaned.
- Remove loose particles by hand, then allow several minutes for the product to soften and loosen the soiling.
- Rinse the area very thoroughly with warm water and then wash down.
- For breeding mares and stallions, wash the sheath and penis, or the vaginal area, before and after covering.
- Disposable gloves are recommended for hygiene during application.
Specification
- Sold here in a 500ml bottle.
- Equine America code 635A-UK.
- Equine America publish no full ingredient list for this product beyond naming extracts of coconut, so none is reproduced here.
- Stated as cruelty free, paraben free and sulphate free.
Care & Caution
- Rinse very thoroughly. Cleanser left on mucous membranes is the usual cause of soreness afterwards.
- Wear disposable gloves, as Equine America recommend, and keep the product out of the eyes.
- Do not use it on broken, raw or already sore skin.
- Sheaths do not need cleaning often. Over-washing strips the normal flora and tends to make the problem worse rather than better.
- Swelling, discharge, a persistent smell or difficulty urinating is a veterinary matter, not a cleaning one.
