This is the larger of the two seaweed packs, and the one that makes the economics work. At the published horse rate of 50g a day, 3kg is two months of feeding for a single horse, and a little over three months for a pony on 30g.

The seaweed itself is identical to the 1kg: a broad-spectrum vitamin and mineral supplement, fed alongside forage, which Equus Health recommend for coat and hoof condition and describe as a low-cost, non-pellet alternative to a bagged balancer. Buy this size once you know the horse will eat it.

Feeding

• Horses: approximately 50g daily, given by Equus Health as two and a half 25ml scoops.
• Ponies: approximately 30g daily, given as one and a half 25ml scoops.
• Feed alongside forage in the normal hard feed.
• 3kg at the horse rate is 60 days, and about 100 days at the pony rate.
• Keep the bag closed between feeds; seaweed meal takes up moisture readily.

• Equus Health publish no typical analysis and declare no vitamin or mineral levels for this product, so none are quoted here.
• No iodine figure is published, so total iodine intake cannot be calculated from the pack.

Care & Caution

• Seaweed carries iodine naturally and Equus Health publish no level for it. Avoid stacking it on top of a fortified balancer or another seaweed product without checking what the horse is already getting.
• Seek veterinary advice before feeding it to a mare in foal.
• Do not feed an iodine-rich supplement to a horse with a diagnosed thyroid condition without veterinary advice.
