Gold Label Triscrub Antibacterial Skin Cleanser – 5 Litres
The 5 litre container is Triscrub bought properly — for a yard, a kennels or anyone who goes through antiseptic cleanser rather than keeping a bottle for emergencies. Same formulation as the small bottle: mild surfactants, essential oils and chlorhexidine.
At this volume it is worth decanting into a pump bottle for the wash box and leaving the drum in the store. It doubles as a surgical scrub, a general skin disinfectant and an antiseptic hand wash, which is usually why five litres does not last as long as people expect.
<>Performance & Benefits
- Five litres of the same triple combination formulation.
- Substantially cheaper per litre than the 500ml bottle.
- Antibacterial skin cleanser, surgical scrub and general skin disinfectant in one.
- Also used as an antiseptic hand wash on the yard.
- Mild surfactants, so repeated use does not strip the skin.
- Enough for a season of routine wound cleaning across several horses.
Suitable For
- Yards, livery stables, kennels and breeding units.
- Anyone cleaning wounds and scrapes regularly rather than occasionally.
- Pre-procedure skin preparation.
- Hand hygiene where soap and water are not to hand.
- Not for cats. If you only need it for the occasional cut, the 500ml bottle we stock is the sensible buy.
How to Use
- Decant into a smaller pump or squeeze bottle for day-to-day use.
- Wet the area, apply, work up a lather and leave briefly in contact.
- Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry.
- Keep the cap on and the container upright in the store.
Specification
- 5 litre container. Also supplied in 500ml.
- Active combination: mild surfactants, essential oils and chlorhexidine.
- Gold Label’s own website no longer resolves and no current manufacturer specification could be found, so the chlorhexidine concentration and the essential oils used are not stated here.
- No manufacturer dilution rate is published for this product.
Care & Caution
- Chlorhexidine is an antiseptic, not a shampoo. Keep it out of the eyes, ears, nose and mouth, and rinse at once with clean water if it gets into an eye.
- Do not use it on cats. Chlorhexidine and essential oil preparations intended for horses and dogs are not safe to assume safe for cats.
- Rinse the coat thoroughly after use; residue left on the skin can irritate.
- Wear gloves if you are scrubbing repeatedly, and keep the bottle away from children.
- It cleans and disinfects a wound surface but does not treat infection. A wound that is deep, dirty or not healing needs a vet.
