A treat jar from the Great & Small Penrose stoneware range, in teal. Stoneware is ceramic fired at a higher temperature than ordinary earthenware, which vitrifies the clay — the result is non-porous, so it does not absorb smells or harbour bacteria the way a lower-fired pot can.

The Penrose range runs to three colours and five bowl designs alongside the matching treat jar, so a whole feeding station can be put together in one finish. The bamboo lid seals treats from air and looks a good deal better on a worktop than a plastic tub.
