Omega 3 Aid is a straight oil, not a pellet: 100% vegetable oils and fats, being linseed oil and hemp oil, pumped onto food at 2ml a time. GWF list it as Omega 3 Aid for Cats & Dogs and make no fish claim at all, which is the point — there is no fish oil in it, so no fish smell and no marine sourcing.

The analysis is unusually blunt for a supplement: 96.5% crude fat, 47% omega 3, 26% omega 6 and 200mg of natural tocopherols. It is fed for skin barrier condition, coat gloss and normal moulting, and the 500ml bottle covers a 30kg dog for roughly two months at GWF's own rate.

Feeding

• Dogs: one pump, 2ml, per 6kg of bodyweight daily, to a maximum of eight pumps.
• Cats: one pump, 2ml, daily.
• Pump straight onto the food and stir through.
• Introduce gradually across the first week rather than starting at the full rate.
• GWF advise storing it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Care & Caution

• Do not exceed eight pumps a day for a dog. More oil is not better and a sudden jump in fat can cause loose stools.
• At 96.5% fat this carries real calories — count it into the daily ration for an overweight dog, and take advice before feeding it to a dog with a history of pancreatitis.
• Build up over the first week, as GWF direct, rather than starting at the full daily rate.
