GWF Nutrition OneCup for Horses – 3kg Pouch

OneCup is GWF's multivitamin and mineral supplement for the horse that does not need feeding. One 100g cup a day covers 26 vitamins and minerals, and that is the whole point of it: a good doer living on hay and grass gets the micronutrients without the calories that come with a full-rate balancer.

It is a highly concentrated 3mm pellet, and GWF are blunt about what that means. It must be fed at 100g and no more, and never alongside another balancer or mineral supplement, because copper, selenium and zinc all stack up.

Suitable For

• Good doers on forage-only or near forage-only diets.
• Horses and ponies of any age, size or exercise level — GWF do not vary the rate.
• Anyone feeding well under the recommended rate of a compound feed.
• Horses already on a targeted supplement such as GWF Farrier's Aid or Joint Aid Plus.
• Not to be used alongside GWF Equilibra Feed Balancer or any other balancer — pick one or the other.

Feeding

• One cup, 100g, per day for all horses and ponies regardless of size.
• Mix into a small feed or a handful of chaff.
• Feed daily and continuously; it is a maintenance supplement rather than a course.
• A 3kg pouch is 30 days at the stated rate.
• Fresh water at all times.

Composition & Analysis

• Composition: micronised beet pulp, wheat feed, dehulled soya meal produced from genetically modified soya, oats, dicalcium phosphate, vegetable oils and fats, cane molasses, sodium chloride, spearmint, calcium sulphate anhydrous, flavouring compounds, calcium carbonate.
• Analytical constituents: crude protein 17.1%, crude oils and fats 5.8%, crude fibre 8.4%, crude ash 18.9%, sodium 1.1%.
• Additives per kg include zinc 1,000mg oxide with 54mg chelate, copper 120mg sulphate with 378mg chelate, manganese 250mg oxide with 48mg chelate, iron 1,000mg, iodine 10mg, selenium 2mg selenite with 1mg selenomethionine, vitamin A 65,000 IU, vitamin D3 20,350 IU, vitamin E 1,600mg, vitamin K3 8.7mg, choline 1,440mg and beta-carotene 80mg.
• GWF publish no starch or sugar figure for OneCup, so none is given here.
• Our previous copy claimed a 100g measure gives about ten times the vitamins and trace elements of a standard feed. GWF publish no such comparison, so it is not repeated here.

Care & Caution

• GWF state that OneCup must not be fed with other balancers or mineral supplements, and that OneCup and Equilibra must not be fed together — the combination risks toxic levels of minerals such as copper and selenium.
• Feed only at the stated 100g. GWF warn that the selenium, copper and zinc in it can be toxic in larger quantities.
