GWF Nutrition X-Lam Aid for Horses – 3kg Pouch
X-Lam Aid is GWF's laminitis-support supplement, built around a 12.5% natural calcium and magnesium carbonate buffer with glucosamine at 1%, mannan oligosaccharides at 1% and cinnamon powder at 0.5%. GWF describe it as supporting healthy blood flow to the hooves, with natural acid buffering for digestive pH.
That buffer is why the ash figure is high at 20.1% and calcium sits at 4.4%. Turmeric extract at 3,000mg per kilo, grape seed extract at 3,200mg, glycine at 2,000mg and L-arginine at 1,000mg make up the rest of the active list, with vitamins B6, B12 and folic acid added.

Suitable For
- Horses and ponies recovering from laminitis, and those GWF describe as needing support for hoof blood flow.
- All ages, sizes and workloads — GWF publish a single rate band by height.
- Mares in foal; GWF state it as safe for them.
- Horses on soya-free or wheat-gluten-free diets.
- It does not supply a full day's vitamins and trace elements — GWF recommend a balancer alongside it, either their Equilibra Feed Balancer or OneCup, but not both.
Feeding
- Ponies up to 14hh: 100g, one measure, daily. Horses 14hh and over: 150g, one and a half measures, daily.
- GWF allow up to 300g daily in some cases.
- Mix into the normal feed and give it daily and continuously.
- A 3kg pouch is 30 days for a pony or 20 days for a horse at the standard rate.
- Fresh water at all times.

Care & Caution
- Starch is 14%. At the 150g horse rate that is roughly 21g of starch a day, which should be counted into the daily starch total for a metabolic or laminitis-prone horse.
- Contains hemp seed husks. GWF flag trace THC in their hemp-based Immune Aid and advise a two-day withdrawal before FEI competition. They publish no competition statement for X-Lam Aid, so check with your governing body.
