Henry Bell Heritage Everyday Mealworm and Suet Bite Feeder

Dried mealworms and suet bites are what bring in the birds that ignore a seed feeder. Robins, blackbirds, wrens, dunnocks and starlings are insect-eaters first, and a feeder that offers dried insects or suet pellets changes which species use a garden rather than simply feeding more of the same ones.

This is the Heritage Everyday version — aluminium in Henry Bell's antique gold and bronze, sized and priced below the full Heritage feeder but built the same way. Both mealworms and suet bites suit it, so the same feeder can carry either depending on the season and what you have in.

Performance & Benefits
  • Takes both dried mealworms and suet bites, so one feeder covers two foods.
  • Aluminium construction — light, and it will not rust through a wet winter.
  • Antique gold and bronze finish, matching the Heritage collection.
  • Easy to fill, clean and maintain, which is what keeps a feeder in service.
  • Draws insect-eating species that a seed feeder never reaches.
  • Hangs from a feeding station, bird table or a hook on a branch.
<>
Suitable For
  • Dried mealworms, Calciworms and suet bites.
  • Robins, blackbirds, wrens, dunnocks, starlings, blue tits and great tits.
  • Gardens that already feed seed and want to widen the species list.
  • Spring and early summer especially, when adults are hunting insects for nestlings.
  • Not the feeder for fat balls, which need the wider Heritage Everyday Fat Ball Feeder.
<>
How to Use
  • Fill through the lid with dried mealworms, Calciworms or suet bites.
  • Hang from a station arm, a bird table or a branch hook, near but not against cover.
  • Fill shallowly. Dried insects sit unused for longer than seed does if the birds have not found them yet.
  • Wash weekly in warm water with a bird-safe hygiene product and dry fully.
  • Tip out and replace any feed that has got damp.
