A seed tube in a decorative copper finish with a small solar LED built into the top. The panel charges through the day and the light comes on at dusk. It does nothing for the birds, who are roosting by then, but it turns a feeder into something that still reads at the far end of a garden after dark.

This is the larger of Henry Bell's two Solar seed feeders, so it holds more and wants filling less often. Henry Bell list the Solar range as suitable for seed, blends and peanuts, which makes it flexible if you change what you are putting out through the year.

How to Use

• Fill with seed or a seed blend, close the top and hang it where the panel gets daylight.
• Site it in sun if you want the light to charge properly. In deep shade the LED will not run.
• Empty and wash it every couple of weeks in warm water with a bird-safe hygiene spray, keeping the solar head out of the water.
• Dry it fully before refilling.
• Keep fresh water nearby for drinking and bathing.
