A real pine cone packed with suet, cereals and seed, hung on a cord and ready to use. There is nothing to fill and no feeder to buy: take the wrapper off, hook it over a branch, and the tits will usually find it inside a day.

The cone shape is what makes it work. Birds have to cling and pick between the scales, which suits blue tits, coal tits and long-tailed tits and gives the smaller clinging birds a head start over heavier visitors. It is also the easiest way to start feeding suet if you have never put a feeder up.
