The Original is the feed the range is built on: conservation-grade oat straw chaff with a light molasses dressing, limestone flour and salt. Honeychop's purpose for it is straightforward — mix it through a concentrate feed to slow the horse down, lengthen the chewing and get more saliva into the gut before the food arrives.

Salt is included at 25g per kilo, the amount Honeychop reckon covers an average horse in light work in a moderate climate, and the limestone flour supplies calcium. It also stands in as a partial hay replacer when forage is short.
