Honeychop Topline & Shine – 15kg

Topline & Shine is the conditioning end of the Honeychop Free From range: a molasses-free soft fibre blend of oat straw, dried grass and alfalfa carrying a high-oil, low-starch pellet built from rice bran, linseed and rapeseed oil. The aim is to put a topline on a horse without lighting it up.

Honeychop analyse it at 12% protein, 25% fibre, 11% oil, 4.5% total sugar and 2.5% starch, at 12MJ/kg — the most energy-dense feed they make, and almost all of that energy comes from oil and fibre rather than cereal. They state it as suitable for horses prone to laminitis or gastric ulcers.

Performance & Benefits
  • 11% oil, the highest in the Honeychop range, from rice bran, linseed and rapeseed oil.
  • Starch held to 2.5% and total sugar to 4.5%.
  • 12MJ/kg digestible energy — genuine conditioning energy, released slowly.
  • Free from molasses, barley, soya, wheat, added sugar, preservatives, artificial additives and nutritionally improved straw.
  • Thyme, oregano, mint and basil blended through.
  • Soft fibre blend of oat straw, dried grass and alfalfa.
<>
Suitable For
  • Horses needing topline and condition without extra fizz.
  • Horses in work that need safe energy from oil rather than cereal.
  • Horses prone to laminitis or gastric ulcers — Honeychop state it as suitable for both.
  • Fussy feeders.
  • It contains alfalfa, so for an alfalfa-free diet use Honeychop Calm & Shine or Honeychop Lite & Healthy instead.
<>
Feeding
  • Feed as part of a balanced diet, alone or alongside a hard feed.
  • Honeychop publish no feeding rate for Topline & Shine, so none is stated here.
  • Introduce high-oil feeds slowly, over a week or more, to let the gut adjust.
  • Fresh water at all times.
