Horslyx Mint Mini Lick – 650g

Mint is the plainest of the flavoured Horslyx licks — the Original balancer package with peppermint oil worked through it — and the 650g mini is the single tub, about three days for one horse. It is the one to try on a horse that has refused a lick before.

Nutritionally it is identical to the Original Balancer: the same analytical constituents, the same vitamin and trace element additives. The only difference in the declared composition is the peppermint oil at the end of the list, with flavouring compounds declared at 1,000mg per kg. Nothing in it targets joints, airways or the hindgut.

Performance & Benefits
  • Peppermint oil in the declared composition, with flavouring compounds at 1,000mg per kg.
  • The same analysis as Original Balancer — 6.5% protein, 6% oil, 23% ash, 33% sugar.
  • Full Horslyx vitamin package: A 25,000iu, D3 5,000iu, E 1,200mg, B12 220mcg and biotin 12mg per kg.
  • Chelated copper and zinc included alongside the sulphate forms.
  • 650g hand-held tub, about three days for one horse.
  • No artificial colours or preservatives.
<>
Suitable For
  • Fussy horses that have turned down other licks.
  • Rewards, distractions and boredom-breaking in the stable or on the lorry.
  • Stretching exercises, where a strong smell helps hold attention.
  • Trying the Mint formulation before buying the 5kg tub.
  • It carries no joint, airway or gut ingredients — Horslyx Mobility, Respiratory or Pro Digest Balancer are the ones that do.
<>
Feeding
  • Horslyx give an expected intake of 250g a day for a 500kg horse, 200g for a 300kg pony and 300g for a 700kg horse.
  • Horslyx put a 650g mini at roughly three days' supply for one horse.
  • Offer it in its tub; hand-holding it works for stretching but is not how to feed it all day.
  • Introduce it slowly and monitor the intake rate; Horslyx note that consumption usually falls once a horse has got used to having a lick available.
  • Feed alongside forage and fresh water.
