This is the grain-free recipe in the James Wellbeloved adult range, and the only one of their dry foods that carries both glucosamine and chondroitin. Dried fish protein leads at 24.8%, with dried potatoes at 24.1% and pea starch taking the place of the cereals, so a dog reacting to wheat, barley, oats, maize or rice has nothing here to react to.

At 1.5kg this is the smallest of the three bags James Wellbeloved make it in, which puts it firmly in trial territory — enough to run a proper seven- to ten-day transition and see whether the skin settles, without committing to a 10kg bag. It is also the sensible size for a single small dog, where a large bag would go stale before it was finished.
