Julius-K9 IDC Powerharness – Dark Pink, Size 4
Size 4 is the largest IDC Julius-K9 make, with a chest range of 96–138cm for dogs of roughly 70–90kg. The 42cm of adjustment in that range is deliberate: at this end of the scale two dogs of the same weight can be built completely differently, and a fixed-size harness would fit neither.
Dark pink is a distinct Julius-K9 colour rather than a shade of the standard pink, and it holds its depth better against a black or brindle coat. Everything else is the range standard — saddle back panel, angled chest strap, reflective stitching, swappable side patches.
<>Performance & Benefits
- OEKO-TEX certified, antiallergenic lining against the dog's coat.
- Saddle section takes the pull of the lead across the back rather than into the spine.
- Chest strap is set at a deliberate angle so the shoulders stay free to swing.
- High-visibility reflective stitching worked into the edging and chest strap.
- Interchangeable hook-and-loop patches on both sides, readable from above and from the side.
- Made in the EU from German textiles, on ISO 9001 certified production.
- 42cm of chest adjustment, which matters most on the giant breeds where build varies widely at the same weight.
Suitable For
- Dogs with a chest of 96–138cm, around 70–90kg, measured behind the front legs.
- Giant breeds — mastiffs, great danes, St Bernards, Irish wolfhounds, leonbergers.
- Deep-chested dogs whose girth is far ahead of what their weight would suggest.
- Handlers who want a grip point on a dog too big to take hold of by the collar.
- Far too large for a 40–70kg dog — Size 3 is the one for those, and buying up a size on a dog that pulls invites it to back out.
How to Use
- Measure the chest all the way round, four fingers behind the front legs. On a giant breed the weight guide is the least reliable part of the chart; the measurement is what counts.
- Open the chest strap, lay the saddle over the back, pass the strap under and close it.
- Set it so a flat hand slides under the strap and the saddle does not roll when the lead tightens.
- Fold and secure the handle when it is not in use.
- Swap the hook-and-loop side patches for whatever labels you want on.
Specification
- Size 4: chest 96–138cm, dog weight 70–90kg — Julius-K9's own chart, and the largest size in the range.
- Colour dark pink, a separate Julius-K9 colour from the standard pink.
- Top handle, fixed with a rubber flap and popper on sizes 0 to 4.
- OEKO-TEX certified antiallergenic lining, German textiles, ISO 9001 certified EU production.
- Julius-K9 state metal components are being phased out in favour of a strong plastic, so the lead ring may be either depending on production date.
Care & Caution
- Never lift or support a dog of 70–90kg by the handle. It is there to stop a dog, and nothing at this weight should be hanging from it.
- Julius-K9 publish no crash-test result for this harness, so do not use it as a car restraint. Fit a restraint sold and tested for vehicle use.
- Check the chest strap, the saddle stitching and the lead ring every few weeks on a dog this heavy, and retire the harness at the first sign of a failed seam.
- Take the harness off indoors. On a giant breed there is enough leverage in the handle to do damage if it hooks on a door handle or a gate.
